Job summary

Options Barton School in Barton-upon-Humber is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to help students access learning and build confidence, working with teachers and the wider team to support progress.

This permanent role is term time plus 5 training days, 40 hours per week, with a start in October 2026. Salary is £23,638 per annum, with safeguarding and inclusive practice at its heart.

Qualifications

• GCSE C/4 in maths and English required.
• Experience in education or SEN setting is desirable but not essential.
• Passion for supporting children and young people to achieve potential.

• Support students in the classroom, individually and in small groups, helping them access learning and achieve their goals.
• Build positive relationships that promote confidence, independence and wellbeing.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help create a calm, inclusive learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers and the multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised support.
• Monitor and celebrate student progress and assist with classroom preparation.
• Help ensure safety, wellbeing and safeguarding of all students at all times.

What you will bring

Options Barton School is a specialist school for children and young people with autism, aged 5 to 19. Following extensive development and refurbishment works, we are expanding our team in preparation for our next intake of students.
