Job summary

The Education Network is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support students in secondary schools. You will work within a trained team delivering one-on-one or small group support, helping implement IEPs and adapt materials to meet individual needs.

You will foster an inclusive, safe learning environment, collaborate with teachers, and engage with families to support student success. Flexible part-time or full-time options may be available.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with secondary school students is desirable.
  • Ability to adapt approaches for different learning styles and needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patient and empathetic.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching materials.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting students' social and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other support professionals to create a cohesive and effective learning experience.
  • Contribute to the overall school community, engaging with parents, guardians, and colleagues to ensure student success.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with secondary school students.
  • Understanding of various learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and a passion for helping students overcome challenges.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or related field preferred.
