Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting for a Learning and Progress Mentor in a Primary School in Houghton le Spring, starting in September. The role offers a Monday to Friday schedule with a 8:30am–3:30pm day and a temporary long-term contract.

You will support pupils one-to-one and in small groups, help deliver catch-up sessions, and work with the class teacher on lesson planning to adapt resources, promoting an inclusive classroom where every student belongs.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a school or education setting.
• Able to take direction from the class teacher and work in a team.
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people.
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar (preferred).

Responsibilities

The role:

• £107.71 daily rate
• Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 15:30pm

• Based in a Primary School in North Durham

Requirements or Skills:

• Recent experience working in a school or education setting
• Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills
• Genuine passion for supporting young people
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands‑on experience (preferred)
