Job summary

Milk Education is seeking an Inclusive Learning Mentor to support pupils across EYFS to KS2 in welcoming primary schools. This graduate-friendly role focuses on helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential through targeted interventions and inclusive practices.

Qualifications

  • Degree completed within the last five years.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Understanding of SEND, SEMH, Autism or additional learning needs is advantageous.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Professional employment references covering the last two years.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 on a one-to-one, small group and whole-class basis.
  • Help create an inclusive learning environment where all children can thrive.
  • Support pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs and SEMH.
  • Deliver targeted interventions in Reading, Writing and Maths.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, engagement and participation.
  • Support children’s social, emotional and communication development.
  • Work alongside teachers and SENDCOs to implement individual support strategies.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Assist with classroom preparation and learning resources.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

We’re currently recruiting for an Inclusive Learning Mentor to work within welcoming and supportive Primary Schools, starting in September.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for graduates who are passionate about helping every child succeed, regardless of their background, learning style or additional needs. You’ll work closely with pupils who require extra support, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

This role is particularly suited to graduates considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, SEND, speech and language therapy, social work or other child-focused professions.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 on a one-to-one, small group and whole-class basis.

  • Help create an inclusive learning environment where all children can thrive.

Ideal Background

We welcome applications from graduates who have completed one of the following degrees within the last five years:

  • Childhood Studies

  • Early Years Childhood Studies

  • Psychology

  • Criminology

  • BA Education

  • Primary Education

  • MA Education

  • MA Education (SEND and Inclusion)

  • PGCE

  • Other Education, Child Development or Social Science-related degrees

Requirements
  • Degree obtained within the last five years.

  • Professional employment references covering the last two years.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
