Job summary

Education Partnership North East seeks a passionate Learning Practitioner in Art & Design to lead theory and practical sessions that engage learners, many new to visual arts. You will deliver inclusive teaching, build confidence and promote growth beyond the classroom.

The role offers career development, CPD and access to digital tools, with responsibilities spanning assessment, curriculum collaboration, and stakeholder engagement to enrich learner pathways.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 maths and English qualification.
• Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or commitment to complete within the first two years.
• Experience working with students and colleagues to review student progress and support achievement of learning goals.
• Planning and delivering sessions that are safe, inclusive, stretching and relevant to learners.
• Creating inclusive learning experiences by applying knowledge of special educational needs and vulnerable learners.
• Providing constructive and timely feedback to support progress.

About the Role

As a Learning Practitioner in Art & Design, you will lead theory and practical based sessions that engage and inspire learners, many of whom may be experiencing visual arts for the first time.

The role offers career development, CPD, and peer learning. You'll work with a range of equipment and digital platforms, keeping you at the forefront of creative learning and delivery.

Role Responsibilities

• Plan and Deliver High-Quality Learning: Design and deliver engaging, career-focused learning using diverse, student-centred methods and digital technologies to enhance student experience and future-readiness.
• Assessment and Feedback: Prepare and deliver effective assessments, maintaining accurate records and providing constructive feedback to support student progress and meet awarding body standards.
• Enhance Student Experience: Set and monitor high expectations for attendance, behaviour, and progress, supporting students on and off campus throughout their journey, including induction and engagement activities.
• Collaborate and Share Practice: Contribute to curriculum development, share subject expertise across teams, and support digital learning resource creation.
• Engage with Stakeholders: Build and maintain productive links with employers, schools, and community partners to enrich learning opportunities and student pathways.
• Professional Conduct and Development: Commit to ongoing CPD, uphold safeguarding, equality, and health & safety responsibilities, and contribute to wider college duties including recruitment and quality assurance.

• Engaging students to establish standards of behaviour, mutual respect and safe working.
• Using digital technologies safely, effectively and to promote innovative learning
• Engagement in relation to educational research, pedagogy, and assessment
• Use creative approaches to developing students’ mathematics, English, digital and wider employability skills
• Embed motivational, coaching, and skills development strategies to help students to progress and achieve.
