Job summary

Brookhaven in Bury is seeking an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support literacy, numeracy and wellbeing across our diverse learners. You will lead targeted interventions, cover lessons, and coordinate staff timetables while working closely with families and professionals to plan bespoke learning.

You will mentor pupils, deliver restorative practices and help them access the curriculum through personalised programmes, contributing to a thriving educational environment.

Qualifications

  • HLTA role requires delivering targeted interventions and supporting learning needs.
  • Experience with planning, delivering and coordinating bespoke learning programmes.
  • Ability to coordinate staff cover, timetables and student reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Lead literacy and numeracy interventions to support pupil progress.
  • Teach lessons and provide high-quality cover when required.
  • Coordinate staff cover and daily timetabling activities.
  • Oversee and maintain student plans in partnership with families.
  • Provide pastoral and behaviour support through mentoring and restorative practice.
  • Plan and deliver individualised learning programmes for pupils needing access support.
