Job summary

The King's Trust program at Carshalton College is seeking a Learning Mentor to support and mentor learners with mental health or medical conditions, disabilities, or learning difficulties to access the curriculum and complete their course.

We value candidates with experience working with young people in a mentoring role and with strong communication skills. Level 2 English/Literacy and Level 1 Maths qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with learners in a mentoring/support role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good working knowledge of support needs for learners with mental health, disability or learning difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentoring and practical help to enable learners to access the curriculum.
• Support learners to stay on course and complete their programmes.
• Liaise with tutors and support services to coordinate assistance.
