About the Role

Due to the forthcoming retirement of our current post holder, the governing board of Beech Hill Community Primary School wishes to appoint an outstanding team member for the role of Learning Mentor/Pastoral Support. The Learning Mentor will work under the direction of the pastoral manager. This role is essential for maintaining good attendance, delivering therapeutic interventions, and supporting pupils and their families to overcome barriers to learning, enabling children to do "their best today for a brighter tomorrow".

Candidate Requirements
  • Pro-active, enthusiastic, conscientious, and self-motivated
  • Ability to build successful relationships with parents, pupils, and professionals
  • High expectations of children's behaviour and attainment
  • Thorough knowledge of "Working together to improve school attendance"
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Recent and relevant experience working with children
  • Understanding of trauma-informed approaches
  • Experience working with external agencies
