Job summary

Featherby Partnership Schools are seeking a Learning Mentor to provide targeted pastoral support, mentoring and guidance to pupils who need extra help to overcome barriers to learning. You will work with pupils, families, staff and external professionals to support wellbeing, confidence, behaviour and engagement in school life.

We value relationships, encouragement and a proactive approach to helping every child feel valued and capable.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children’s wellbeing and development.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles and pupil welfare.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with identified pupils and provide encouragement and support.
• Deliver individual and small group mentoring sessions focused on wellbeing and resilience.
• Help pupils develop positive attitudes towards learning and school life.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external agencies to ensure right support.
• Promote mental health and emotional wellbeing in school.
• Support pupils through key transitions in their educational journey.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, nurturing school environment.
