Job summary

E-ACT West Walsall Academy is seeking a Learning Mentor to support students in English and Maths with targeted intervention and coaching. The role aims to remove barriers to learning, build confidence and improve engagement across the curriculum.

The successful candidate will work with teachers and the SENDCo to deliver personalised plans, monitor progress and provide timely feedback. 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, permanent, SCP 8-13, with a salary range of £24,371–£30,023.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English minimum grade C or equivalent.
• TA2 qualification or equivalent or relevant experience.
• Relevant educational experience supporting a child/children in a school setting.
• Ability to work with an individual child or with a group.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to pupils in English, Maths and across the curriculum.
• Support pupils with SEND using personalised learning and support plans.
• Collaborate with teachers and the SENDCo to monitor progress and give feedback.
• Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment using appropriate resources.

We are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor to support students in English and Maths, providing targeted intervention, academic mentoring and encouragement. Key responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and make progress in English, Maths, and across the curriculum.
• Support pupils with SEND, social, emotional, and behavioural needs by implementing personalised learning and support plans, promoting inclusion and independence.
• Work closely with teachers and the SENDCo to deliver learning activities, monitor pupil progress, and provide timely feedback on achievement, engagement, and behaviour.
• Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues, encouraging positive behaviour, wellbeing, and active participation in school life.
• Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment, using appropriate resources and technology to enhance learning and support pupil development.

Pay range: SCP 8-13 £24,370.82 - £26,406.05 (FTE: £27,709.00 - £30,023.00)

37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
