Job summary

SeeMeHired is seeking an experienced Learning Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in homes and local communities.

You will plan structured activities to build independence, assist with daily living skills, and apply PMVA techniques to safely manage behaviours. Collaboration with families and MDTs is essential.

Qualifications

• 12 months' experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
• PMVA training.
• Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.
• Experience promoting independent living skills.
• Confidence using digital care planning systems.
• A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.
• First Aid training.

Responsibilities

• Providing consistent, person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and local community.
• Planning and facilitating engaging, structured activities to build independence and social confidence.
• Supporting with daily living skills including meal planning, shopping, dietary needs and personal routines.
• Applying PMVA techniques and de-escalation strategies to safely manage challenging behaviours.
• Maintaining accurate and professional digital care notes, risk assessments, and incident reports.
• Collaborating with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure positive outcomes.
