Job summary

Marva Group is seeking a Learning Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred care to young people with learning disabilities in community settings. You will work to promote independence, daily living skills, and social confidence, within supported home and community environments.

You will apply de-escalation techniques, maintain digital care notes, and collaborate with families and MDTs to ensure positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• 12 months’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
• PMVA training.
• Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.
• Experience promoting independent living skills such as routines and nutrition.
• Confidence using digital care planning systems for accurate record keeping.
• A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Eligibility to work in the UK (Right to Work documentation required).
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People or Adults).

Responsibilities

• Providing consistent, person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in homes and local community.
• Planning and facilitating engaging activities to build independence and social confidence.
• Supporting daily living skills including meal planning, shopping, dietary needs and routines.
• Applying PMVA techniques and de-escalation strategies to safely manage behaviours.
• Maintaining accurate digital care notes, risk assessments and incident reports.
• Collaborating with families, carers and MDTs to ensure positive outcomes.
