Job summary

Marva is actively recruiting for a Learning Disability Support Worker to assist young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and local community. The role focuses on person-centred support, promoting independence and social confidence within a compassionate, resilient team.

The ideal candidate has 12+ months’ experience, PMVA training and holds NVQ/QCF Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, with valid UK driving license and eligibility to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• At least 12 months’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
• PMVA training.
• Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.
• Experience promoting independent living skills such as routines and nutrition.
• Confidence using digital care planning systems for accurate record keeping.
• A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People or Adults).

Responsibilities

• Providing consistent, person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and local community.
• Planning and facilitating engaging, structured activities to build independence and social confidence.
• Supporting with daily living skills including meal planning, shopping, dietary needs and personal routines.
• Applying PMVA techniques and de-escalation strategies to safely manage challenging behaviours.
• Maintaining accurate and professional digital care notes, risk assessments, and incident reports.
• Collaborating with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure positive outcomes.
