Job summary

Marva is seeking a Learning Disability Support Worker to help young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour in the community, delivering compassionate, person-centred support to promote independence, build confidence and improve quality of life.

Essential requirements include 12 months’ experience, PMVA training, de‑escalation skills, driving licence with access to a vehicle, and NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care; eligibility to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• At least 12 months’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
• PMVA training and de-escalation skills.
• Experience promoting independent living skills and routines.
• Confidence using digital care planning systems for records.
• UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People or Adults).

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, person-centred support to young people in homes and community.
• Plan and facilitate engaging activities to build independence and confidence.
• Support daily living skills including meals, shopping, and routines.
• Apply PMVA techniques and de-escalation strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate digital care notes and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with families and MDTs for positive outcomes.
