Job summary

Marva is seeking a Learning Disability Support Worker to assist young people with learning disabilities in their homes and the local community. You will provide person-centred support to promote independence and confidence.

The role requires PMVA training, de-escalation skills, a current UK driving licence, and access to your own vehicle. Ongoing training, career progression, and a flexible holiday pot are available.

Qualifications

• 12 months' experience with learning disabilities.
• PMVA training.
• Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.
• Experience promoting independent living skills.
• Confidence using digital care planning systems.
• Valid UK driving licence and own vehicle.
• Right to work in the UK.
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.

Responsibilities

• Providing consistent, person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities in homes and local community.
• Planning and facilitating engaging, structured activities to build independence and social confidence.
• Supporting with daily living skills including meal planning, shopping, dietary needs and personal routines.
• Applying PMVA techniques and de‑escalation.

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this Learning Disability Support Worker role, you must have:

• At least 12 months’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
• PMVA training
• Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.
• Experience promoting independent living skills such as routines and nutrition.
• Confidence using digital care planning systems for accurate record keeping.
• A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Eligibility to work in the UK (Right to Work documentation required)
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People or Adults).

Desirable Qualifications

• First Aid training or equivalent.
