Job summary

BCP Council is seeking a Social Worker (Level 1) for the Adult Learning Disability Service at Hillcrest. The role is full-time, 37 hours, permanent, with a starting salary of £40,444. The team operates in an integrated, supportive environment with hybrid and flexible working options.

Applicants should have recent social care experience, be able to work with people with learning disability, and hold a social work qualification. A driving licence and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a social care setting with direct contact with the public.
• ASYE support available for newly qualified workers.
• Experience with people with learning disability desired.
• Understanding of social and legal context of social care services.
• Valid driving licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive work focusing on the needs of BCP residents over 18.
• Support Carers and undertake comprehensive Carers work.
• Enable independence through strength-based, self-directed support and monitoring.
• Work across Hillcrest and other BCP locations with home working where appropriate.
• Visit BCP ordinary residents in various settings and potentially across the country.
