Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust invites newly qualified Learning Disability Nurses to join a Band 5 to Band 6 development pathway across HMP Ashfield and HMP Leyhill. You will be a Registered Learning Disability Nurse working within a multidisciplinary team to develop clinical autonomy and leadership skills, with a structured plan and supervision.

Progression to Band 6 is not automatic and depends on competencies and interview outcomes; a full driving licence is required for site travel.

Qualifications

• Registered Learning Disability Nurse with NMC registration.
• Band 5 development pathway with potential progression to Band 6.
• Role requires supervision, learning opportunities and leadership development.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care for people with learning disabilities in a prison setting.
• Manage a caseload with appropriate supervision and develop care plans.
• Contribute to safeguarding, medicines management, risk management and service improvement.
