Job summary

The Bridge Academy is seeking a committed Learning and Behaviour Mentor to join our Pastoral Team and help remove barriers to learning for students. You will provide 1:1, small-group and individual interventions, building positive relationships and supporting students to engage with their learning.

You will work with teachers, pastoral colleagues and other professionals to monitor progress, track behaviour data and contribute to planning and reviews that promote positive student outcomes and

Qualifications

  • Be passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
  • Ability build positive, trusting relationships with students and provide consistent, compassionate support.
  • Be patient, resilient and able to remain calm and positive when managing challenging behaviour.
  • Have high expectations of students and is committed to promoting positive behaviour, engagement and achievement.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, parents/carers and other professionals.
  • Be proactive and solution-focused, with the ability to use behaviour data and information to identify needs and support effective interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting students individually and in groups through targeted learning, pastoral and behaviour interventions.
  • Working alongside the wider Pastoral Team to identify and remove barriers to learning.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with students and providing consistent encouragement and support.
  • Tracking and analysing behaviour data to identify trends, patterns and areas requiring further intervention.
  • Contributing to the planning, delivery and review of interventions to support improved student outcomes.
  • Supporting the school’s approach to recognising, rewarding and celebrating positive student behaviour.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral colleagues and other professionals to ensure students receive appropriate support.
  • Promoting high expectations for behaviour, attendance, engagement and learning.
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to relevant meetings and reviews.
  • Supporting the development of a positive, inclusive and supportive school culture.

The Bridge Academy,


The Bridge Academy is looking for a committed and compassionate Learning and Behaviour Mentor to join our wider Pastoral Team and play an important role in supporting students to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with young people and understands that positive relationships, consistent support and early intervention can make a real difference to a student’s experience of school. As a Learning and Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with colleagues across the Pastoral Team to identify and remove barriers to learning. You will provide targeted support to students through 1:1, small-group and individual interventions, helping them develop the behaviours, attitudes and skills they need to engage positively with their learning.
