Learning Assistant - Brickwork

Hours:37 hours per week
Salary:£29,046 to £30,960 per annum. Plus generous benefits including:

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our growing Brickwork team as a Learning Assistant. The ideal person will be hard working, have Bricklaying skills and is looking for a career change. The role involves setting up the workshop, including preparing materials, managing and supervising our brickwork training workshop and supporting all brickwork students and apprentices with their practical activities.

The day-to-day duties include preparing training workstations, ordering brickwork supplies, putting mixes on, working with students, developing risk assessments/ safe systems of work and general workshop housekeeping.

This is a key role within the brickwork team and the successful person will have the opportunity to help prepare our students for their assessments and work closely with the brickwork team.

About the Person
If you have experience and qualifications in the construction industry as a Bricklayer and a passion for supporting students to achieve their potential, we want to hear from you. Ideally your background will be focused on the construction industry. You will be a self-starter, able to work with young people in a supportive and instructive manner and enjoy working as part of a large team.

About the College
We are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more one million people. Each year, we have approximately 4,000 school leavers, 1,000 apprentices, 2,000 adult students, and 400 higher-level students studying with us.

Our wide range of education options span entry level programmes through to degrees, higher technical qualifications, and accredited professional courses to courses for professional development. Our apprenticeships can be studied from level 2 to level 5 across a range of different career pathways. We are the largest provider of A-Level and vocational programmes for school leavers in the region; we offer nearly 35 A-Level subjects and over 80 vocational courses, including a wide range of T-Level pathways.
