Job summary

The University of Liverpool seeks a Student Learning and Teaching Support Officer within the Institute of Population Health to support students in Psychology, Primary Care and Mental Health, Public Health Policy and Systems, and Health Data Science. You will guide students through procedures and signpost them to welfare services.

Must have a degree or equivalent, with HE student administration experience and strong communication skills to build relationships across the Institute and University.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification / relevant professional experience.
• Experience of working in student administration in Higher Education.
• Ability to provide advice, guidance and support to students.
• Good understanding of issues affecting students’ learning experience in a diverse HE environment.

Responsibilities

• Support students in the Institute of Population Health, guiding them through relevant procedures.
• Signpost students to specialist support and welfare services within the University.
• Act as a main point of contact for students experiencing wellbeing or performance issues.
• Collaborate with academic and professional services colleagues and other LTSOs to ensure student welfare and engagement.

Job description

We are seeking to recruit a Student Learning and Teaching Support Officer within the Institute of Population Health to support students in the Departments of Psychology, Primary Care and Mental Health, Public Health Policy and Systems and Health Data Science. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, as well as another LTSO, you will act as a main point of contact for students within the Institute experiencing issues that are impacting on their wellbeing and performance, guide them through relevant procedures and signpost them to specialist support and welfare services within the University.

You should have a degree (or equivalent qualification / relevant professional experience), with experience of working in student administration in the Higher Education sector and providing advice, guidance and support to students. You should have a good understanding of issues affecting students’ learning experience in a diverse Higher Education environment, have excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships both within the Institute and across the University.

This post is fixed term until 31 August 2027.
