Our Central Functions Learning and Development team continues to grow, and we are now looking for an experienced Learning and Development Operational Lead to join one of our vibrant offices with hybrid working on a fixed-term contract. This role is suited for someone with previous experience in a similar Learning and Development position, with knowledge of building, designing, and delivering learning programs.

We undertake pensions administration for over one million members and provide advisory services to schemes and corporate sponsors, including 88 schemes with assets over £1bn. The Team

The Group Learning and Development (L&D) function, within HR, develops strategies to provide consistent and professional services across all business functions, focusing on early careers, mainstream development, and late careers. Business functions have dedicated resources for their specific L&D needs and work closely with the Group L&D to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.

The vision of Group L&D is to foster a culture of learning across XPS, providing effective learning solutions that meet all business areas' needs.

The Role

As a Learning and Development Operational Lead, you will:

  • Assess learning needs and design, develop, and implement relevant programs.
  • Deliver learning sessions via classroom, virtual, and bite-sized formats.
  • Manage third-party suppliers to enhance learning options.
  • Support the development and delivery of the L&D strategy.
  • Assist in attaining awards and accreditations for the Group.
  • Coach stakeholders on learning strategies and promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • Benchmark training solutions externally for innovation.
  • Review and enhance mandatory training programs to increase engagement and value.
  • Develop and expand e-learning content and pathways.
  • Manage L&D processes and policies, including Study Support packages.
  • Lead and develop colleagues to ensure high performance and value addition.

Your profile

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in designing and delivering learning programs, preferably in Professional Services.
  • Strong digital skills and experience with web-based applications and digital learning.
  • Strategic thinking combined with operational understanding.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems and blended learning approaches.
  • Ability to facilitate learning across diverse audiences.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Data analysis skills to identify patterns and trends.

Desirable Criteria

  • Additional L&D qualifications and knowledge.
  • Experience with AI applications and technology in learning.
