Our Central Functions Learning and Development team continues to grow and we are now looking for an experienced Learning and Development Operational Lead to join one of our vibrant offices with hybrid working on a fixed term contract. This is an exciting role and would most likely suit someone with previous experience in a similar Learning and Development role where they have gained knowledge and experience of building, designing, and delivering learning programmes.

The Team

The Group Learning and Development (L&D) function sits within HR and its role is to develop strategies to provide a consistent and professional service across all business functions within the firm focusing on early careers, mainstream development, and late careers. Business functions have resources allocated to drive their specific L&D needs, and they work closely with the Group L&D function to ensure consistency and the sharing of ideas, knowledge, and capabilities.

The Group L&D’s vision is to foster a culture of learning across the XPS Group. We exist to provide effective and efficient learning solutions that meet the needs of all business areas.

The Role

As a Learning and Development Operational Lead with XPS you will:

  • Assess the learning and development needs and design, develop and implement learning programmes to meet those needs.
  • Implement learning sessions using a variety of methods including classroom, virtual and bitesize learning, that support the needs of the business areas.
  • Engage and manage 3rd party suppliers to provide enhanced learning options.
  • Support the Head of Group L&D to develop and deliver the L&D strategy.
  • Provide support to business leaders and stakeholders to attain awards & accreditations for the Group
  • Coach stakeholders to support understanding of group learning and development strategies, driving a culture of continuous learning.
  • Benchmark training solutions against external solutions to ensure forward thinking approaches.
  • Review mandatory training and develop enhanced programmes that will drive engagement, ensuring training is fit for purpose and adds value to the business.
  • Build on existing e-Learning offer to enhance content and learning pathways and build new e-learning content.
  • Manage Learning & Development processes and policies in collaboration with business leaders to develop and maintain relevant Study Support packages
  • People management of colleagues, ensuring they are coached and developed to be a high performing team that will add tangible value to the firm.

Your profile

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience of building, designing, and delivering learning programmes ideally within a Professional Services firm.
  • Excellent digital skills with proven experience of web-based applications and digital learning.
  • Ability to combine strategic thinking with an understanding of operational requirements.
  • Experience of working with a Learning Management system, creating blended programmes and stand-alone content.
  • Ability to facilitate learning programmes across a wide range of people.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Ability to analyse management data as well as interpreting data to identify patterns and trends.

Desirable Criteria

  • Enhanced learning and development knowledge and qualifications.
  • Experience and practical use of technology, specifically AI applications.
