Job summary

Christopher Pickering Primary School, part of Humber Education Trust, is seeking an Achievement Support Assistant to join a welcoming school community. The role requires supporting pupils across the curriculum, addressing emotional and pastoral needs, and assisting with education plans in a collaborative setting.

The successful candidate will work 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during term time (190 days).

Qualifications

• Understanding of the National Curriculum and EYFS guidance, plus safeguarding.
• Effective use of ICT to support teaching and learning.
• Ability to interact with courtesy, tact and diplomacy and negotiate effectively.
• Ability to establish professional working relationships with colleagues, partners and pupils.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to planning and evaluation of learning and assist in recording pupils’ progress.
• Support individual and small groups to accelerate learning.
• Support emotional, behavioural and pastoral needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs.
• Assist with development and implementation of Individual Education / Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.
• Encourage pupils to develop as independent learners with a thirst for learning.
