Job summary

Bolton Talent Solutions is recruiting Additional Learning Support Assistants (ALSAs) to support learners across Bolton College. You will work with learners who have SEND, EHCPs, learning difficulties, or other barriers to learning in a safe and inclusive environment.

The role requires GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above, a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning or related field, and a willingness to complete mandatory ALSA training.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting learners, young people, or adults with additional needs.
• Understanding of SEND, inclusion, and safeguarding.
• Strong communication skills and a professional approach.
• Commitment to promoting learner independence and maintaining professional boundaries.
• Willingness to complete mandatory training and work to ALSA Professional Standards.

• Support learners in class, workshops, and college activities.
• Promote independence, confidence, and self-advocacy.
• Assist learners to engage with learning without completing work for them.
• Work closely with tutors and support teams.

Hours: Variable, Monday to Friday (some evening work)
Pay: £12.95 per hour + holiday pay

About the Role

You will work with young people and adults with SEND, EHCPs, learning difficulties, disabilities, and other barriers to learning. Your role is to help learners engage, achieve, and develop independence within a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support learners in class, workshops, and college activities
• Promote independence, confidence, and self-advocacy
• Assist learners to engage with learning without completing work for them
• Work closely with tutors and support teams
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
• Follow safeguarding procedures and college policies at all times
• GCSE English and Maths Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent)
