Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Plymouth is seeking an experienced Lean Manufacturing engineer to optimise production using Lean and Toyota principles. You will drive value stream mapping, cell design, and standard work to improve efficiency and reduce costs on the shop floor.

You will lead process planning, evaluate tooling needs, and ensure robust documentation and planning to support manufacturing while maintaining high quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in an Engineering related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrable experience of applying Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
• Ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organisation.
• Experience leading Change Management.
• Experience of MEMS manufacture is preferrable.
• Lean Six Sigma green/back belt.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lean Factory and Cell Design to reduce waste and balance operations.
• Value Stream Mapping to develop waste reduction and optimisation strategy.
• Cell Design to implement Waste reduction strategy.
• Standard Work for optimised processes.
• Cost reduction and productivity improvements to reduce waste.
• Material delivery strategy for shop floor to supply chain.
• Develop tooling/equipment requirements and design decisions.
• Create manufacturing routing and PFMEA to manage process risks.
