Job summary

RTX in Plymouth is seeking a proactive engineer to join our Lean Factory & Cell Design team, reporting to the Operations Manager. In this role you will drive value stream mapping, standard work, and cell design to reduce waste and improve productivity on the shop floor, ensuring on-time delivery within budget.

You will apply Toyota and Lean principles, develop manufacturing routing, document processes, and lead change management across functions.

Qualifications

Degree in an Engineering related discipline or equivalent experience.
Demonstrable experience of applying Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
Ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organisation.
Experience leading Change Management.
Experience of MEMS manufacture is preferrable.
Lean Six Sigma green/back belt.

Responsibilities

Value Stream Mapping to develop waste reduction and optimisation strategy.
Cell Design to implement Waste reduction strategy.
Standard Work for optimised processes.
Cost reduction and productivity improvements to reduce waste and balance operations.
Material delivery strategy for the shop floor back to the supply chain.
Development of manufacturing routing and documentation to support processes.
