Job summary

Glanbia is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive lean manufacturing and operational excellence across the site.

Based in Middlesbrough onsite, you will partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to identify losses, lead Kaizen events, and develop capability through coaching and structured problem solving.

The role emphasises Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Sustainability with a focus on sustaining improvements through governance and Daily Management.

Qualifications

• Degree, HND or HNC in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations or related technical discipline.
• Experience in FMCG, food, pharmaceutical or high-volume manufacturing.
• Practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and leading improvement projects.
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capability.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong data-analysis capability using Microsoft Excel and manufacturing data systems.
• Ability to work effectively on the shop floor and communicate with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Support deployment of the site Operational Excellence strategy and translate performance losses into prioritised improvement activity.
• Coach teams to solve problems at source and sustain results with visual management.
• Lead Lean activity focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Sustainability.
• Develop and maintain improvement dashboards and performance measures with baselines and targets.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver scope, milestones and outcomes.
