Job summary

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water in Caerphilly is seeking a customer-focused operative to maintain water supply and support leakage reduction. You will respond to customer queries, work with contractors, and use GIS and other software at Nelson Depot.

The role is permanent, full-time, Monday-Thursday 8:00am to 4:00pm and Friday 8:00am to 3:30pm, with a company vehicle provided and a benefits package including generous leave and pension contributions.

Qualifications

• Current full, valid driving licence
• GCSE Grade C in English and Maths, or equivalent qualification or experience in a relevant engineering, utilities, environmental, water operations or technical discipline
• Experience of providing good customer service
• Experience of working in a team to solve problems

Responsibilities

• Resolve potential or actual network/leakage issues to ensure water supply is maintained and minimise customer inconvenience
• Respond to and resolve issues raised by customers and the public, liaising with internal departments and partners as required
• Ensure leakage targets are achieved through leakage reduction and detection techniques
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and maintain personal safety and duty of care
• Manage challenging situations professionally to achieve timely resolutions
• Maintain accurate records across IT systems daily
• Organise and prioritise workload with minimal supervision
• Build relationships with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders to support objectives
• Support continuous improvement of network performance through inspections and investigations
• Undertake any other duties to meet business needs
