Job summary

We Do Social Work in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Social Worker for the Youth Justice Service (YJS). You will support the Team Manager in delivering high-quality youth justice practice, undertake complex casework and provide professional guidance to colleagues.

The role focuses on safeguarding, reducing reoffending and promoting positive outcomes for children and young people, with responsibilities including chairing meetings, multi-agency collaboration, and service development.

Responsibilities

• Undertake complex casework with assessments, interventions and plans tailored to each child.
• Work with children, young people and families to reduce reoffending and promote positive change.
• Ensure casework complies with legislation, safeguarding procedures and YJS standards.
• Lead or assist in managing high-profile or sensitive cases with appropriate risk management.
• Chair meetings and planning discussions with children, young people and families as required.
• Represent the Youth Justice Service at multi-agency meetings and other professional forums.
• Support monitoring of workloads, KPIs and service performance within the team.
