Job summary

Birmingham Children's Trust is seeking a seasoned Youth Offending Service (YOS) Officer for a 6‑month contract in Aston, Birmingham. You will manage complex youth justice caseloads, implement prevention strategies, and work closely with families and partner services to improve outcomes for vulnerable young people.

The role involves case planning, quality assurance, and leading or supporting staff in a busy, multi‑agency environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Youth Offending Service (YOS) or Youth Justice Service (YJS).
• Proven track record in managing complex cases involving children and young people.
• Knowledge of Youth Justice legislation, safeguarding, and child protection.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complex Youth Justice cases and maintain precise case documentation.
• Implement strategies to reduce and prevent reoffending.
• Collaborate with young people, families, and partner organisations.
• Lead meetings and reviews with multi-agency teams.
• Ensure adherence to Youth Justice legislation and policies.
