Job summary

Babcock International is seeking a Principal Quality Assurance and Quality Control Engineer for the Devonport Royal Dockyard on-site role. You will lead welding QA/QC activities, ensure compliance with ISO 3834-2, and provide expert guidance on complex welding and fabrication matters.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage a team of quality professionals, and work across engineering with suppliers and stakeholders to meet project requirements in a high-security defence environment.

Qualifications

• Leadership of QA/QC team and mentoring engineers.
• Experience with ISO 3834-2 and welding quality systems.
• Understanding of non-destructive testing and welding codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of quality assurance and quality control engineers, including coaching and development.
• Act as Responsible Welding Coordinator and maintain ISO 3834-2 compliance.
• Provide expert advice on complex welding repairs and fabrication activities.
• Drive continuous improvement through welding systems and processes.
• Collaborate with engineering, suppliers and stakeholders to meet standards and business needs.
