Job summary

Babcock International in Plymouth, Devon, is seeking an Assistant QAQC Engineer to support robust quality assurance and quality control across a complex engineering environment at Devonport Royal Dockyard. You will work with welding and quality professionals to maintain standards, procedures and compliance that underpin critical defence programmes.

The role offers a path to develop expertise in quality engineering, welding assurance, and continuous improvement within a highly regulated setting,

Qualifications

• Experience using quality management systems and controlled documentation processes.
• Understanding of quality assurance, quality control and compliance requirements within an engineering environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Experience analysing information and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the implementation and maintenance of quality management system procedures and documentation.
• Assisting with surveillance activities, compliance reviews and quality audits across engineering operations.
• Monitoring corrective and preventive actions and supporting their effective close-out.
• Reviewing quality records, engineering documentation and inspection data to ensure compliance requirements are met.
• Analysing quality performance data and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
