Job summary

swim! is seeking a General Manager to lead a family-focused venue, overseeing operations, safety, teaching standards, maintenance and service. You will drive local engagement with families, schools and clubs, supported by an Assistant Manager and Team Leader to create a welcoming, efficient and energetic environment that families love returning to.

You will lead the team, recruit and develop talent, monitor performance data, and ensure the venue delivers a premium experience every day.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a leisure, hospitality or customer-facing environment.
• Excellent leadership, able to coach, motivate and inspire others.
• Confident communicator with strong customer service skills.
• Passion for delivering premium experiences and building community connections.
• Capacity to work a 3-week rota (evenings/weekends).

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of your swim! venue, ensuring a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for all customers.
• Motivate, coach, and support your team to deliver a premium experience every day.
• Maintain the highest operational and safety standards, including pool plant operations (training provided).
• Manage staff rotas, schedules and resources in line with the 3-week pattern and budget.
• Take ownership of local sales and membership growth and support parents through their journey.
• Deliver hyperlocal community engagement with schools and local groups to drive sign-ups.
• Retain existing customers through high standards, quality lessons and service.
• Monitor performance data and feedback to improve service quality.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, training and retention of new team members.
• Collaborate with swim! centres to share best practices and deliver great experiences.
