Job summary

DRVN Coventry is seeking a Lead Concept Engineer to lead vehicle concept development across niche programmes. You will translate customer requirements into robust vehicle concepts and define architecture sign-off with cross-functional teams.

The role focuses on feasibility studies, technical risk assessment, and delivering concept CAD layouts while aligning with programme objectives and customer expectations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in automotive concept engineering.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering activities.
• Knowledge of automotive development processes and gateway reviews.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle concept leadership across multiple niche and specialist programmes.
• Define and maintain vehicle concepts, specifications, and system requirements.
• Develop vehicle attribute targets: performance, mass, packaging, cost, manufacturability.
• Coordinate concept activities with Packaging, Chassis, Body, Electrical, Interior, Manufacturing and Purchasing.
• Support concept reviews and gateway deliverables.
• Capture attribute requirements and translate into engineering specs.
• Identify and manage technical risks and ensure programme timing and cost targets.
