Job summary

AXIS Capital is seeking an experienced Team Lead for Underwriting Assurance in Global Markets. You will lead Analysts and Interns, oversee regulatory returns, and strengthen governance and controls to ensure accurate, timely reporting.

You will work across Underwriting, Operations, Finance and Compliance to drive quality, process improvements and effective stakeholder engagement while developing the team and delivering practical assurance across underwriting activity.

Qualifications

• Experience in insurance, underwriting operations, regulatory reporting, governance, controls, compliance or assurance.
• Experience leading, coaching, mentoring or supervising colleagues.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and confidence reviewing evidence, reporting outputs and findings.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain quality and escalating issues appropriately.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee key underwriting regulatory returns and governance reporting.
• Lead Analysts and Interns; provide coaching and feedback to improve accuracy and confidence.
• Manage reviews of underwriting files; ensure findings are supported by clear evidence.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve controls and embed changes through procedures and training.
