Job summary

Clifton Search is working with a highly acquisitive global organisation in the software/tech sector to appoint a Senior Sole Counsel based in the UK. The successful candidate will lead legal affairs for a newly acquired entity, reporting to the CEO in the global group and operating autonomously across the business.

You will handle international contracts, software licensing, data protection matters, and be the primary point of contact on regulatory issues including AI/ML strategy and IP

Qualifications

• UK Qualified Solicitor with senior level/lead experience.
• Experience in software technology environment.
• UK based, hands-on and flexible.
• International experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Full legal responsibility across the newly acquired organisation.
• Advising and negotiating and leading on a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Lead experience of international contracts, or contracts subject to foreign laws.
• Robust negotiation skills for high-value contracts with customers.
• Experience with software licensing contracts, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS.
• Advising on global data protection issues; privacy and consumer protection laws.
• Lead compliance efforts related to privacy laws.
• AI/ML Regulatory Strategy.
• IP Portfolio Management.
