Job summary

Clifton Search is seeking a Senior Sole Counsel based in the UK to lead legal matters for a newly acquired part of the group. The role is highly autonomous and reports to the CEO in a global context, with collaboration across worldwide teams.

The successful candidate will have UK-qualified solicitor credentials, extensive software/tech sector experience, and a proven track record in licensing, cross-border contracts, and data privacy compliance.

Qualifications

• UK qualified solicitor with senior/lead experience.
• Experience in a software/technology environment.
• Experience with software licensing (SaaS/IaaS/PaaS).
• Experience with international contracts and cross-border negotiations.
• Knowledge of data protection and privacy laws.

Responsibilities

• Full legal responsibility across the newly acquired organisation.
• Advising and negotiating and leading on a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Lead experience of international contracts or contracts under foreign laws.
• Robust negotiation skills for high-value contracts with customers.
• Lead compliance on privacy and consumer protection laws; AI/ML regulatory strategy.
• IP portfolio management.
