Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Lead Operational Technology Specialist - Tunnel Systems & Technology to act as the technical authority for tunnel OT, shaping strategy, governance and assurance. You will lead design, delivery and continuous improvement of OT across tunnel assets, balancing safety, reliability and performance.

The role is hybrid, with two days per week in the office, and requires collaboration with the OT Architect and senior stakeholders to develop roadmaps and adopt innovative

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in operational technology within complex engineering environments such as tunnels.
• Strong understanding of safety, reliability, availability and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for tunnel OT and engage with senior stakeholders.
• Govern governance and assurance for tunnel renewals and emerging technologies.
• Define technical strategy and roadmaps for tunnel systems (SCADA, ITS, fire/detection, ventilation, telecom).
• Lead business cases, procurement approaches and supplier engagement for OT solutions.
• Mentor colleagues and grow OT capability across teams.
• Manage OT budgets under governance processes.
