Job summary

Right2Work in Westmorland and Furness seeks a proactive Lead Trainer to deliver our Personal Development Programme for adults 18+ with SEND. You will lead, inspire and motivate learners and colleagues, turning everyday experiences into meaningful learning opportunities.

You will work hands-on with learners, build relationships and support personal growth, independence and community participation. Experience with SEND is desirable; no recruitment agencies please.

Qualifications

• Experience with adults with SEND is desirable and understanding of person-centered practice, positive risk-taking, safeguarding, and promoting independence.

Future Choices is a five-day-a-week Personal Development Programme supporting adults aged 18+ with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our purpose is simple: to build confidence, develop independence and create real-life opportunities that enable learners to become active, valued members of their communities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, inspiring and proactive Lead Trainer who will play a hands-on role in delivering the programme, motivating learners and colleagues, and creating meaningful opportunities for personal development.

You will be a visible, active and involved leader, who is prepared to work alongside learners, deliver engaging activities, build relationships and turn everyday experiences into valuable learning opportunities. We believe personal development comes from doing, experiencing, trying, reflecting and having another go.

A supermarket visit can develop skills with money, communication, choice and independence. A community activity can develop travel skills, citizenship, wellbeing and belonging. You will encourage learners and your team to have a go, try something different, learn from mistakes, keep going and celebrate progress.

• Everyday Life Skills - Developing practical skills for routines, organisation, money, food, travel, communication and problem-solving.
• Life in the Community & Citizenship - Supporting learners to access their communities, understand their rights and responsibilities and become active participants.
• Opportunities for Now & the Future - Exploring interests, aspirations, volunteering, work experience, employability and meaningful future opportunities.
• Nurturing Independence & Self-Advocacy - Developing choice, communication, decision-making and the confidence to express needs, preferences and aspirations.
• Growth & Personal Progress - Setting meaningful goals, recognising achievements, overcoming barriers and celebrating progress.

You will actively seek out new experiences, community opportunities, partnerships and pathways that reflect learners' interests and aspirations, helping turn what they enjoy into opportunities to learn, participate and grow.
