Job summary

Vertical Aerospace is seeking an Advanced Thermal Engineer to shape the thermal performance of our eVTOL. You will lead battery thermal CFD analyses, develop high-fidelity models, and support powertrain and avionics thermal analysis to ensure safe, certifiable performance.

You will work cross-functionally with design, test and systems teams, correlate simulations with test data, and help develop tools and best practices in thermal modelling.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related engineering.
• Strong experience in thermal CFD analysis using industry tools.
• Experience in battery thermal modelling is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead battery thermal CFD analysis, supporting design verification across key programme milestones.
• Develop high-fidelity and system-level thermal models for battery and powertrain.
• Correlate simulations with test data to validate models.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to junior engineers.
