Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Therapeutic Radiographer for Sutton, 1.0 WTE. You will lead radiotherapy processes at a highly complex work base and supervise a radiography team, with emphasis on IGRT and advanced treatment planning.

The post involves liaising with medical physics, nursing and support staff, ensuring safe, evidence-based practice and contributing to education and development within a premier cancer centre.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a therapeutic radiographer (BSc Hons in Radiotherapy or equivalent)
• Significant experience in sophisticated RT environment with IGRT
• Postgraduate leadership/education training desirable
• Experience in clinical education of pre-registration students desirable
• Proven ability to supervise radiography staff and students
• Experience with planning, QA and compliance with IR(ME)R and local guidelines

Responsibilities

• Lead radiotherapy processes at a specialist work base and supervise the radiographic team.
• Ensure accurate preparation, planning and delivery of treatment by the team.
• Set high standards of technical expertise and professional conduct.
• Train team members in equipment operation and safety.
• Meet regulatory responsibilities under IR(ME)R and manage exposures as applicable.
• Make evidence-based decisions and verify planning/treatment images.
• Maintain accurate records and provide required statistics.
