Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Lead Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join the Theatre scrub team. The post is suitable for an ODP or Nurse with experience in surgical scrub roles and mentoring.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Elective & Trauma Orthopaedic procedures is required, with the ability to lead and mentor team members. The successful candidate will work in a modern theatre suite designed for Day Case and Inpatients, with state-of-the-art equipment

Qualifications

• Active HCPC registration as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) or active NMC registration as a Nurse.
• Willingness to complete Intermediate Life Support (ILS).
• QSIR Practitioner qualification (desirable).
• Experience leading a theatre team and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the theatre scrub team and ensure delivery of high-quality patient care.
• Adhere to Trust policies and Health & Safety standards.
• Participate in on-call duties, weekend rotation and staffing rota.
• Develop teaching and mentoring skills within the unit.
