Job summary

Circle Health Group in the UK is seeking an experienced theatre nurse or ODP to provide skilled support to surgical and anaesthetic teams, manage theatres and lists, and supervise junior staff.

Applicants must hold NMC or HCPC registration with orthopaedic perioperative experience; a competitive salary up to £45,000 and a comprehensive benefits package are on offer. Full time role, 37.5 hours per week, with flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse or ODP with perioperative experience.
• Experience in orthopaedic procedures is essential.
• Strong governance, infection control and safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle specialist instrumentation and equipment in line with manufacturers’ guidance and surgical protocols.
• Provide skilled assistance to surgical and anaesthetic teams, anticipating needs.
• Take a senior role in preparing theatres, coordinating lists, and ensuring resources are in place.
• Support Theatre Manager with team briefings, scheduling, stock control and patient flow.
• Supervise junior theatre practitioners and support staff during shifts.
• Identify risks and participate in audits and incident reviews.
• Liaise with consultants, anaesthetists, recovery staff and ward teams for continuity of care.
