Job summary

Circle Health Group, at Chaucer Hospital in Canterbury, seeks a Lead Theatre Practitioner for Day Surgery and Endoscopy. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours weekly, with a flexible shift pattern. You will lead perioperative care and oversee theatre staff within a busy private hospital network.

The position requires strong clinical leadership, theatre expertise, and a commitment to patient safety, governance and professional development. Salary up to £49,000 per year.

Qualifications

• NMC or HCPC registered practitioner with theatre experience.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership and mentoring ability.
• Strong knowledge of patient safety, infection control, and governance.
• Scrub lead or Surgical First Assistant qualification.
• Endoscopy experience desirable with JAG familiarity.
• ILS and ENB/mentorship training can be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of high-quality perioperative care as a clinical lead.
• Ensure patient safety checks and WHO surgical steps are followed.
• Supervise theatre practitioners and support staff.
• Support development and assessment of competencies within the team.
• Mentor junior staff and students, promoting CPD.
