Job summary

Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital is seeking a Clinical Leader for theatres to provide clinical and operational leadership to the scrub team during surgical procedures. You will ensure aseptic techniques, patient safety, and efficient theatre utilisation, while supporting surgeons and the multidisciplinary team.

Applicants will be registered nurses or HCPC-registered operating department practitioners with significant scrub experience and proven leadership capabilities, committed to staff

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or HCPC-registered ODP with current registration.
• Significant scrub experience across surgical specialties.
• Proven leadership and line management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the scrub team during surgical procedures.
• Maintain high standards of aseptic technique and patient safety.
• Prepare and manage surgical instruments and consumables.
• Support surgeons and the multidisciplinary team during operations.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision and staff development.
• Ensure compliance with theatre policies and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to staff rostering and efficient theatre utilisation.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement and incident investigations.
• Monitor stock levels and support procurement and resource management.
• Act as a clinical role model during emergencies and complex procedures.
