Job description

Step into the role of a Lead Testing Automation Engineer where you'll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence.

To be successful as a Lead Testing Automation Engineer, you should have experience with:

  • Mobile testing
  • Proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks
  • Behaviour testing such as Cucumber
  • Test leadership and team management

Some other highly valued skills include:

  • Experience with Scaled Agile
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes including Cloud, Docker, OpenShift
  • Experience with GitLab
  • Experience in building and testing mission-critical software within a business domain

This role can be based out of either our Northampton or Knutsford campus.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to ensure software quality and reliability.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Create and execute automated test scripts using testing frameworks and tools for early defect detection.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, participate in design discussions, and develop acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for defects, working closely with developers for resolution.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and contribute to technology communities within the organization.
