Job summary

Scott Logic, a leading software consultancy in the UK, seeks a Lead Test Engineer to own testing strategy across mission-critical projects for high-profile clients. This hands-on, client-facing role spans the full development lifecycle within small, multidisciplinary teams and a culture of pragmatism.

Based in our city centre office with occasional travel across the UK, you will drive quality through automation, mentoring, and AI testing approaches while communicating clearly with stakeholders

Qualifications

• Hands-on testing leadership across projects and teams.
• Experience with AI testing concepts and approaches.
• Strong client-facing communication and collaboration.
• Knowledge of testing specialisms such as API testing, data testing, and domain-specific testing.
• Experience applying testing in financial services or similar domains.

Lead Test Engineer

Scott Logic is a leading software consultancy that helps businesses across various industries navigate digital transformation.

Responsibilities

This is a hands‑on, client‑facing role that involves the full development lifecycle and delivery of mission‑critical projects for high‑profile global organisations. You’ll typically work in small, tight‑knit multidisciplinary teams, decoding tough software problems. The team values freedom, collaboration, and pragmatism.

The role is based in our city centre office and may involve occasional travel across the UK.

Qualifications

• A testing mindset, including critical thinking, healthy scepticism and a desire to help teams improve quality
• Experience leading testing on a project or across a team
• A strong background in software engineering
• Experience in tooling and automation in testing, including implementation
• Consulting skills including excellent communication, collaboration, and commercial awareness
• An understanding of the use of AI in testing
• Experience and expertise in at least one testing specialism, e.g.:
  • Testing of AI systems
  • API Testing
  • Data Engineering Testing
  • Domain‑specific testing (e.g. Financial Services)
