Job Purpose

As a Lead Test Engineer, you will be working closely with BAs, Product Owners, and Frontend & Backend Developers to understand the new or existing solutions we implement. You will take ownership of quality on Betting projects you may be working on ensuring what is delivered meets our high expectations. You will work with the Engineering Manager and Lead Developer to define the test strategy and plan for the projects. You will be responsible for writing and executing the test scripts and reporting the results.

Job Duties

1. Reviewing and analysing requirement documents ensuring both business and technical requirements are fully understood.
2. Producing test documentation (test plans and test scripts) to agreed standards.
3. Meeting with the software/product designers to determine quality assurance parameters.
4. Leading the Test Engineers in designing QA test procedures.
5. Overseeing the drafting of testing documents.
6. Implementing testing procedures and overseeing the QA process.
7. Troubleshooting quality issues and modifying test procedures.
8. Conducting analysis checks on product specifications.
9. Reviewing Quality Assurance reports.
10. Ensuring the successful deployment of products into the market.
11. Responding to requests from the design team and management.
12. Conducting quality testing on projects and raising issues to the agreed processes and timescales.
13. Reporting testing progress to relevant parties, communicating effectively and escalating where appropriate.
14. Maintaining and creating product knowledge documentation for use within the team.
15. Mentor and train team to build more productivity.
16. Assisting with any functional queries that may arise from business users following releases.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

1. Proven commercial software testing experience which should include web and mobile testing.
2. Commercial experience in preparing test documentation including test plans, test scripts, test strategies, defect reports, and progress updates.
3. Previous experience in Sportsbook software is a must.
4. Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle SDLC.
5. Excellent soft skills such as reporting, communication etc.
6. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
7. Proven experience of working with regular releases.
8. Ability to react well to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
9. Ability to work within a team and also individually on your own initiative.
10. Commitment to quality and a thorough approach to work.
11. High attention to detail.
12. A proactive approach to own personal development.
13. ISEB-ISTQB qualified is an advantage.
14. Experience working with automation.
15. Prior experience of working in the gambling industry or comparable projects with similar scope and intricacy.
16. Familiarity with test management, issue tracking, and project management tools.
17. Understanding of contemporary testing techniques and approaches.
18. Previous testing experience involving 3rd Party feed data.
19. Proficiency in API testing.
20. Experience of using Jira and Confluence.
21. Strong aptitude for problem-solving.
