Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Test Engineer to undertake comprehensive test planning and execution, focusing on API and UI automation as part of a managed service. You will play a critical role in defining testing strategies using a risk-based approach, creating and maintaining automated test suites, and collaborating with teams across the Software Development Lifecycle to ensure alignment with business objectives. You will also contribute to knowledge sharing within the team and drive quality through a combination of manual and automated testing techniques.

Role Details:

• This role is hybrid, requiring two days a week in Newcastle.

Pre-employment Checks: Successful candidates will undergo checks including identity, nationality or immigration status, employment history, and criminal record checks.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute test plans for APIs, UI, and Power Platform (Canvas).
2. Create and maintain automated test frameworks and suites.
3. Perform functional, accessibility, performance, security, and non-functional testing.
4. Collaborate in agile environments, applying shift-left principles and CI/CD pipelines.
5. Define testing strategies based on risk analysis.
6. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery quality.
7. Mentor and coach team members to foster a collaborative testing environment.

Skills and Experience:

• Based in Newcastle upon Tyne or surrounding areas.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform including Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Dataverse.
• Experience with automated UI, API, and Power Platform testing.
• Understanding of testing lifecycle, including defect management.
• Experience in agile environments and CI/CD.
• Ability to communicate technical findings effectively.
• PL-900 Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals accreditation.

Security Clearance: The role requires obtaining SC clearance, which involves residency and other criteria.
