Job description

We’re recruiting for a Lead Test Engineer to join our busy Final Test Team. This opportunity suits a proactive individual seeking the next step in their career. Take a lead in identifying and solving problems in your area of responsibility. Work across departments to improve processes and practices continually. Deliver fully tested products in line with test procedures maintained by the Manufacturing Engineering Team. Ensure product compliance with standards and specifications. Take ownership of tools, maintaining quality, schedules, and efficiency targets. In the absence of the Test Team Leader, ensure the smooth running of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver fully functional, tested products on time, following test procedures.
  2. Ensure adherence to test procedures and complete all documentation accurately.
  3. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve quality.
  4. Drive product quality through data capture (FRACAS) and fault analysis.
  5. Lead by example in attendance, quality, safety, cleanliness, and 5S practices.
  6. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.
  7. Support customer acceptance visits and coordinate resources in the absence of the Team Leader.
  8. Identify resource requirements during system installation or commissioning at customer sites.
  9. Promote 5S principles within the department.
  10. Occasionally visit customer sites for system installation or commissioning support.
  11. Work on a rotating shift pattern as scheduled by your Team Leader.
  12. Perform any other tasks reasonably assigned by the company.

Education / Qualifications:

  • A high level of general education and literacy.
  • HNC or equivalent qualification.
  • Preferred but not essential: HND or equivalent qualification.

Professional Skills / Abilities:

  • Experience in complex electro-mechanical assembly and/or testing.
  • Ability to effect change and inspire others to achieve results.
  • Experience with vacuum and RF technologies.
  • Strong problem investigation and analysis skills with solution suggestions.
  • IT literacy and presentation skills.

Personal Qualities:

  • Self-motivated team player with minimal supervision and effective communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and customer-focused.
  • Supportive of team responsibility and knowledge sharing.
  • Constructively challenges existing processes and suggests improvements.
  • Willing to travel as required.
